More Explicit Than The Logo Chanel

Memo to Trump and Pence's Graphic Designers: HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

The clinically insane level of rank incompetence in the Trump campaign is the gift that keeps on giving. You can despair at the polls, you can marvel at the spectacle, but in the end, they simply don't know what the fuck they're doing.

I'll recap, even though it feels like explaining "Pokemon GO" at this point. You all know what happened. The Trump-Pence logo was revealed, the Internet spent three seconds and collectively decided the Trump T was fucking the ever-loving fuck out of the Pence P, there were animated GIFs, Planned Parenthood put a condom on Trump's... shaft, and we all had a grand old time.

And then, the campaign that doubles down on everything, that never admits a mistake, wiped the logo from their website, replacing it with a bland Large Trump Over Slightly Smaller Pence as the "logo",

Unfortunately, global and national events have prevented this from being the kind of story it should be. All we're ever going to get is a statement from a Trump spokesman saying:

"We have a number of logos. The final one won’t be unveiled until the convention.”

Come on. The American Pubic deserves to know more about this than that. For example, given the last-minute nature of Trump's choice of Pence, there have GOT to be versions of that where Trump's T is fucking Gingrich's G and Christie's C. We as a society deserve to see those logos. You know they're sitting in an InDesign Projects folder on some poor staffer's laptop. LET THE LOGOS FREE!

And there's no way we should let the Trump campaign have a free do-over on this. Everyone knows why they pulled the logo out prematurely. Given Pence's stance on abortion, it was probably the wisest move. But the claim that the graphically sexual and also unfortunately-abbreviated TP Logo was just one of a bunch of possible logos before a final one is revealed at the convention is almost as unbelievable as Pence's sudden embracing of all the Trump policies he once criticized as a member of the far-right orthodoxy.

I don't know why Trump didn't stand by the logo the way he stands by all his other mistakes. In the interviews they've given together over the weekend, it's clear the logo is an accurate description of their relationship. Trump-Pence is like an arranged marriage. Neither of them really wants to be there, but at the end of the day, someone's getting fucked. And Trump's going to be damn sure it's not him.

Well, at least until November. There's a lot Trump COULD do to avoid the ass-hammering that's inbound, but the logo debacle proves there's not a lot he CAN do.
